Project Goals

The goal of this project was to create a logo that could live up to the historic name that is the olympics. Creating a logo for something with such great history can be daunting as you feel the need to be elaborate, and create something that support the weight of the event's name. I explored these many elaborate design concepts through my sketch and couldn't settle on one that I felt truly worked. I eventually explored the idea of incorporating the Eiffel tower as it is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world and certainly the most recognizable association with Paris. I found this to be very rewarding as it was the design concept I eventually chose in the end. 

The initial idea with the Eiffel tower was to incorporate the the "4" from 2024 but I found through review that this idea, while cleaver, was a bit too cleaver and not clear, so I simplified the design. This simplification allowed the design to retain its initial homage and make the design more aesthetically pleasing through symmetry. In the end I am very pleased with how the design turned out.
